Seaweed Makes You Thin

Yes, eating disgusting sea-slime grass will make you thinner.  And not just because the taste discourages you from eating too much of it.  Apparently something called 'alginate' lowers the amount of fat being absorbed by the body.

Does this mean that you can eat cream cakes for breakfast, followed by a bowl of seaweed, and suffer no ill effects?  Sadly not.  This rubbery elongated snot must be eaten 'as part of a normal diet', according to this article.

If your regular and 'normal' diet involves eating something that even fish regard only as a last resort, I am guessing that you don't need to lose too much weight in the first place.  Correct me if I'm wrong.
